So many restaurants, where does one start? It can be over-whelming trying to decide which restaurant to choose. Last year, I was lost like a marshmallow in a cup of hot chocolate. This year, I got this. I am going to keep updating the list of my personal recommendations through out Miami Spice since I will be trying different places and finding new gems to share with all of you. But first, let’s start with the basics.

1.

Try a new place. Yep, it’s so easy to go to our faves and forget to try a new spot. Think about it, this is what Miami Spice is all about. This is your time to try 3 courses for lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price. So get your fork ready and let’s do this. It’s time to widen your horizons and try a new menu item or new plac.

2.

Switch it up. Each time you choose a restaurant, try to pick a new cuisine. Such as a steak house, sushi, cuban, vietnamese, indian and so many other choices. Don’t be scared, food is alway changing and so is your palette. You never know, you just may enjoy eating a whole fish with it’s eyeballs still visible as you munch down

3.

Do your research and plan your Miami Spice choices. I would categorize it by cuisine. There is 181 participating restaurants this year, you can’t possibly try everything. So, if you eat out once a week for dinner, you have 9 weeks so thats 9 dinners. I would suggest picking 6 new places and 3 faves. That way you get to try something new and still get some of your go-to places for the low-low.

4.

Take notes of the places you love and what you order. Use your notes app on your phone, its handy and easy to refer to. Also, keep notes of the places you didn’t get to try. Either try it when Miami Spice is over or save it for next year! Sounds crazy, but we all know we forget things from time to time and forgetting a restaurant that you wanted to try is never a good thing

5.

Don’t forget about the drinks. Always ask if there is a Miami Spice menu for cocktails and wine. Usually they will have a list of popular drinks or wines they want you to be able to try for a great deal as well.

Appetizers, House-cured slab bacon with peanut butter and Jalapeño jelly. What? Yeah, I’m serious. It’s delicious, it’s innovative and it’s something new to try. Don’t be scared and you won’t regret it.
Seared Diver Scallops with black garlic and celery leaves. Cooked to perfection with enough flavor to have you going in for another one. Here’s a link to the charcuterie board CLICK HERE ( just in case you want to try it )

Entree, Filet Mignon is something I order on the menu every time I go here. It’s really a quality piece of meat that you can taste the quality in every bite. When you order a steak, they make their house made secret steak sauce recipe right in front of you. Muddling spices, zest and more so close to you that you can smell the aromas in the air.
Honey glazed baby back ribs with honey-lime, fresh mint and thai basil. Finger lickin’ good.
The best deal to try everything to find out what your favorites are. Miami Spice ends on September 30th. If you’re not sure which wine to pair with your dinner, have no fear. Luis the wine director is there to guide you and help you make the perfect choice

Our Lunch Recommendations:
Pair the crispy saffron rice balls stuffed with green peas and beef ragu as the appetizer with the swordfish grilled with lemon sauce and sauteed spinach for the main course, house made tiramisu for dessert. Pair the mixed green salad with sweet walnuts, goat cheese and cherry tomatoes as the appetizer with the rigatoni with ham, mushroom and creamy tomato sauce, house made tiramisu for dessert.
