Pour some sugar on me…or just give me a gem-studded lollipop , that should do the trick. The moment you take your first step inside you will see wall to wall candies of every color and selection, from gummy worms to chocolate covered almonds. The sugar doesn’t stop there, head over to their dessert case for more sweet treats. I made sure before I left that I grabbed a little baggy and dibble dabbled around piling in the all the sweets that reminded me of my childhood. They even have special edition gem-studded lollipops from Drake, Hello Kitty, Kylie Jenner, Katy Perry and more that retail for $26.

Sugar Factory’s location couldn’t get any better. If you’re in the mood for some people watching then grab a table outside right on the boardwalk. There will be no shortage of live, walking by entertainment that’s for sure. Conveniently located on Ocean Drive, right where all the action is on any given night or day. If you prefer a more cooled down air conditioned environment grab a table inside and watch all the huge “Goblets” smoking with liquid nitrogen pass by and you may even see the King Kong Sundae if you’re lucky. What is that? We’ll get to that, don’t you worry.

When you come to a place like this you need a plan of attack. You absolutely need to decide what your goal is. Do you want the sugar high or do you want the alcohol buzz?- because you’re going to get both but there is a method to this madness. They have a full bar so you don’t have to order one of their signature Goblets, but that’s boring, so order a Goblet and let loose. Then there is the option for their non alcoholic flavor rich milk shakes. You can’t have both, pick one. For the sake of writing this, I tried everything on the menu and I was able to pick my favorites of each. Shall we start with the non-alcoholic options? Okay, cool. There was two milk shakes that stood out to me the most, I kept going back and fourth between the two for the flavor.

Milkshakes:

The Cookies and Cream Ice Cream topped with Warm Fudge, Whipped Cream, Crushed Oreo, Red Velvet Cake Chunks with Vanilla Ice Cream and topped with Vanilla Icing,Whipped Cream and red pop rocks.

The most popular alcohol packed Goblet they have is fully loaded with colorful lollipops, candy necklaces and liquid nitrogen to give it the full smoking effect, all hail the “Lollipop Passion.” A wonderful mix of melon, coconut and pineapple, it doesn’t get any more South Beach than that. Another favorite is the “Ocean Blue” with floating sharks and lollipopos made with Hypnotiq and of course the liquid nitrogen. All the Goblets can be made with out alcohol per request and they all come with the liquid nitrogen effect.

If you’re just trying to ease into the night and take it easy, there is the option for their selection of unique martinis. The chocolate martini with marshmallows on top is pretty amazing. If you want less chocolate and a lighter taste, opt for their cotton candy cosmopolitan or the apple tini rimmed with pop rocks with confidence. The presentation on each cocktail, martini, goblet and milkshake is something for the gram’. Not your gramma, the insta-gram.

Need to grub on some food to soak up all the alcohol? Well, they have an entire menu ready to curb those hunger pains. Portions are generous and will get the job done. I would opt for the cheeseburger, which is photogenic to say the least. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you’re trying to keep it light & keep it tight, then go for their summer inspired salad with fresh avocado, mango, salmon and lime juice.

Dessert? Seriously? Yes, of course! Why stop now? Keep going, you’ve almost made it to the finish line. We guarantee you the best sugar high of your life, literally. If you’re celebrating a birthday, an anniversary or just in the mood to party and you have a group of 8 or more people I would suggest ordering the King Kong Sundae. 12 people could easily take this bad boy down. The name King Kong is for a reason.

King Kong Sundae – The best $99 you’ll ever spend

24 Scoops of Ice Cream covered with Hot Fudge, Caramel and Strawberry Sauce, Sliced Bananas, Toasted Marshmallows, Reeses’s Pieces, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Crushed Waffle Cones, Gummi Bears, White Chocolate Strawberry Shavings and Toasted Walnuts with Whipped Cream, Giant Lollipops and Sparklers on top!

Okay, so maybe it’s just you and a friend and the King Kong is just totally absurd for two people to order, but I won’t judge you, just saying. They have an amazing hot fudge brownie sundae of course vanilla ice cream scoops sitting on top melting away. Also, don’t skip the Nutella crepes, YUM! If you can walk out of Sugar Factory with out grabbing your stomach and grunting some weird noises, I commend you.

It’s the perfect place to take someone for a special occasion or just for a night out to do something different. The staff make it fun everyone to enjoy a new experience other than the typical Ocean Drive shenanigans. It’s a sugar over load on level 100 from start to finish. The next day you should probably just drink a green juice and detox a little bit. It’s one of those things you should try at least once in your life.
